Schwaab, Inc. Acquires FRS Marking Devices

Schwaab, Inc. announced today that it acquired FRS Marking Devices based in Fresno, CA.  The terms and conditions of the sale were not disclosed.

Schwaab, Inc. is one of the leading suppliers of hand stamps, name badges/nameplates, indoor signage, acrylics, and business cards in the United States.

FRS provides a complete line of hand stamps, name badges and nameplates primarily to a strong Dealer and Internet base of customers nationally.  FRS will maintain its sales, customer service and production in Fresno, including manufacturing the X-Stamper pre-inked stamp brand, says Douglas R. Lane, President of Schwaab, Inc. 

In 1901, the Jackson brothers started the company.  Tom and Myrna Jackson purchased the company in 1977 becoming the third generation to provide quality marking and identification products to their customers.  Tom and Myrna Jackson have decided to enjoy their retirement years.

Servicing west coast customers, expanding the product line, and seeking additional sales channels have been a priority for Schwaab, says Lane.  FRS is the fourth acquisition on the west coast in as many years for Schwaab.  Others include: Mastermark in Seattle, WA, GB Products International in San Francisco, CA, and AWT California (a business card and stamp company) in Los Angeles, CA.  Additionally, Schwaab acquired Mohawk Stamp Company in Chicago, IL and Capitol Rubber stamp in Milwaukee, WI.

All recent acquisitions, including FRS, bring a rich tradition of providing superior service to their customers, fitting in well with the Schwaab culture.  Schwaab is a family owned and run company dating back to 1881 when Andrew Schwaab started the business in downtown Milwaukee, WI.  Schwaab is committed to the stamp and signage business and will continue to look for ways to expand, including acquisitions.
